The Big Trout Loop is one of Algonquin's most popular canoe routes, and with good reason. For many trippers this loop is their next step into the interior after a couple of trips closer to access points. Covering over 75 kilometers from start to finish, this route gives you a taste of everything Algonquin has to offer. Beautiful lakes for paddling? Tom Thomson Lake, McIntosh Lake and Big Trout Lake say hello. Wildlife viewing opportunities? McIntosh Marsh, Grassy Bay and Otterslide Creek are popular with both trippers and the local moose population. A loooong portage that feels like it might never end? Say hello to the Ink Lake portage!
